What It Is

Fiat Musica is a music catalog and commercialization platform built around the artist brand Broken Light. The catalog consists of approximately 100–200 original compositions written in the 1980s–90s, preserved on cassette tapes, now being produced professionally using AI production tools with a Human-in-the-Loop methodology.

The Triangulation Method

Rather than producing a single definitive version of each composition, the methodology produces multiple stylistically distinct versions — what I call a triangulation suite. The goal is to reveal the structural integrity of the underlying composition independent of any one production style.

The sonic identity spans two primary registers:

• 80s Power-Pop — referencing The Cars, Marshall Crenshaw
• 90s Art-Pop — referencing Talk Talk, Crowded House

The Backwards Retrospective

The release strategy is structured as a Backwards Retrospective — releasing the catalog in reverse chronological order from the production date, which creates a discovery arc rather than an archival dump.
